Advocate for Small Businesses & the Arts in Westmont
For 33 years, TLD Design Center & Gallery has had a home in downtown Westmont. When notified that redevelopment is forcing our displacement, we reached out to ask our community for support to ask the Westmont Village Board to create a TIF Relocation Grant program—drawing inspiration from neighboring communities like Downers Grove and Clarendon Hills, which established clear relocation grants to support legacy businesses displaced by town redevelopment.
Thanks to your help, On July 23rd, Trustee Liddle publicly announced that discussions regarding a relocation grant program are expected in the near future. Village administration has since confirmed to Tammy that grant parameters are being solidified to bring the board.
With our move deadline set for the end of November 2026, swift action is essential so we can secure a new location without business interruption. Please take 30 seconds to send a follow-up message thanking the Board for listening, and encouraging them to approve a comprehensive, flexible grant policy without delay.
